WASHINGTON, USA – US President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order deploying the National Guard to the Mexican-American border to further diminish the illegal migration of migrant workers, human traffickers and drug dealers into the United States of America. This is part of his broader strategy to build a permanent wall on the Mexican-American border.

Sources of information for this report included the AP and MSNBC.

Is this an effective use of the National Guard? After your comment please leave your name, city, state or province and country. Personal attacks against other commentators are not allowed, shall not be tolerated, and shall lead to all such offending comments being summarily deleted. Thank you.

  1. Crossings at the Mexican-American border have greatly diminished since the election of President Trump simply because of his fiery rhetoric against illegal immigration which has convinced many people in Mexico and Central America not to bother. But some are still coming, and millions are already here. The use of the National Guard is not an ineffective strategy component. President Barack Obama used it. And President George W. Bush used it before him.
