SUMMERFIELD, FLORIDA – The landlord of a rental home illegally evicted an entire family on Saturday, October 1, 2016, even though the family’s new rental would be ready for move-in on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 – just three days later. Vindictively, Gerald Bustin and Wendy Gallegos of Open-Door Community Church and Evangelical Bible Mission illegally evicted an entire family just three days before they were to move in to a new place – and attempted to steal the family’s dining table set, refrigerator and stove – all because the family would not convert from Roman Catholicism to evangelical Protestantism and joined the church. Gerald Bustin in particular was determined to keep as much as possible of the furnishings that belong to the family. He tried this despite clear evidence that the property was owned by the family who was being illegally evicted.

Wendy Gallegos in particular refused all attempts by realtors – notably Eileen Brown – to contact her during the transition and to assure her that the family had found a new place to live. The family got there dining room set from Mr. Bustin only after direct intervention by law enforcement.

Run-ins with the law are not new to Gerald Bustin and Wendy Gallegos. Back in 2010 their church sponsored daycare, Royal Child Academy, was closed down after their assistant VPK director fondled several children – a convicted felon whom they allegedly still believe over the many victims.

  1. This is a very controversial church. You will be welcomed with open arms initially. You’ll never know such brotherhood. But then you’ll start to hear things about the church from other people who are afraid. And then more of them will come forward. And then, at some point, the entire awful truth will come crashing down upon you. Avoid these evil people. Avoid them. Avoided them at all costs!

  2. Character counts. Do not have anything to do with people who ever would allow this to happen and then victimize the victims a second time. That’s not the Christianity that I have known.

  3. Remember to always: Get Toxic people OUT! of your life. This story reminds me of Townley Manufacturing Company. after you get hired they make you attend the Church there on the job site in Candler, and yes this is all right here in Marion County, Florida.
